Field–Oriented Control of Five-Phase Induction Motor fed from Space Vector Modulated Matrix Converter

This paper presents the field-oriented control (FOC) of a five-phase induction motor (FPIM) fed from three-to-five phase direct matrix converter (DMC). The article focuses on modulation and DMC, which discusses minimizing problems associated with switching vector selection, sector identification, sequence dwell-time calculations. DMC is controlled space pulse width (SVPWM) technique, eliminating x-y components vectors. Moreover, can perform unity power factor at input side. FPIM sourced FOC technique applied to drive. dynamic characteristics drive are succeeded for different loading conditions. proposed work simulated in Simulink/Matlab environment further verified through practical experimentation. signals IGBTs generated FPGA embedded dSPACE 1006. experimental simulation results prove practicability DMC.
